Practice Problem Solving in Peace

Whenever you find yourself in a difficult situation and you find that you are reacting strongly to it, the best thing to do is to take a step back and clear your head.  Because if you don’t, you will likely not be able to resolve the situation the way you want.

Physically remove yourself from the situation you are in and take some time to calm down.  Being calm and in a peaceful state will allow you to resolve the issue you are dealing with in a much better way.  This might take minutes or days, it depends on you.

To give you an example, I was working on my other website yesterday and something went wrong and my site went down.  It would just show an error message and I couldn’t log in.  My emotions quickly turned into anger and panic.  So I frantically tried to get my site up and running again and I thought it would be hard to recover it.

Everything I was doing was not working and I was making the problem worse by trying to fix it.  I took a step back and realized that what I was doing was not working, so I made the decision to let it go and try the next day.

When I was ready to recover my website the next day, I was in a calm and peaceful state.  It just took an easy few minutes to get my site up and running again.  Ideas and solutions were just there, as I was focused in the present.

Next time you find yourself immediately reacting to a problem or situation, try to get out of the area and come back to it when you are ready and peaceful.
